Contract jobs range from sales to software development, web design, and business writing. Companies are paying the going rates to hire these professionals.

In a surprising new trend, companies in developing countries have begun outsourcing to freelancers in developed economies, including the United States and Canada, to make up for the lack of skilled talent in their territory. Argentina, Mexico, China, and India are the major countries outsourcing work assignments to freelancers, reports CNBC citing a study by Freelancer.com, a web-based job board for freelancers. Guatemala, Pakistan, and Bangladesh are also sending jobs overseas. Considering the report, contract jobs range from sales to software development, web design, and business writing. Companies are paying the going rates to hire these professionals. Many of these companies, analysts say, think that hiring in developed markets is more profitable than trying to make do with local professionals who lack the expertise and the experience that the job requires. Many of the businesses lack resources to train people with a promise of providing full-time employment. Some software development companies in Eastern Europe and South America are also hiring Americans for business development, according to CNBC. A graphic designing firm in Guatemala has recently started looking for freelancers in Canada, as it could not find people in the Central American country with some of the specialized technology skills it needed to go after bigger projects. For professionals, talent and the deep expertise they gain in their domain are the selling points.
